Many patients use complementary therapies to treat medical conditions and to promote health. The purpose of this project was to teach Family Medicine residents an approach to integrative medicine in clinical practice to improve residents’ attitudes, confidence and practice patterns related to complementary modalities. An interactive training program was created to share where to find reliable information on supplements and other complementary treatments, how to find reliable forms of supplements and evidence-based data supporting the use of certain complementary treatments for common medical conditions. Other residency programs can use our presentation to improve their own residents' ability to gather relevant information regarding safe and effective supplements.#2017
