This file contains a handout and slides from a presentation at the Behavioral Science Forum October 2018 titled Facilitation: An Invisible Skill in Successful Organizations. The material describes a qualitative study involving interviews with 10 people from four residency programs: seven staff members and three program directors. The seven staff members were identified by program directors as excelling at the ability to "make things flow more easily" for others on a team. Results revealed seven characteristics of exemplary facilitators. The presentation concludes with thoughts about how the information can be used in residency programs.
