This lecture discussion gives a brief overview of the current literature on teaching medical students use of the EHR in patient care, and then proposes a longitudinal curriculum that teaches stepwise acquisition of integrated EHR and clinical skills for review and discussion, in the simulated community health center component of the EVMS family medicine M3 clerkship.
