An Improved Definition of Health Derived from Complex Systems Principles

02-01-2009 10:07

This is an interactive slide-supported seminar. It briefly outlines the fundamental scientific concepts needed to support a step-by-step derivation of health and illness from the observations and theories of scientists studying complex systems. This is commonly understood as 'chaos and complexity,' or more precisely as nonlinear dynamics. As a broad interdisciplinary field, any such presentation requires a lot of leg work to bring physicians up to the current state of knowledge and process in this field they have had insufficient exposure to. This slide-supported seminar covers a fundamental topic of broad interest and application to all aspects of medicine. It is adaptable and appropriate to audiences of many levels of training.
