Building Capacity for Transgender Care in RI: An Interdisciplinary Primary Care Approach

04-21-2016 07:13

In 2014, a group of medical and behavioral providers and transgender community members began meeting in an effort to increase capacity for transgender care in Rhode Island. Together we organized a day-long conference held in January of 2015 at Alpert Medical School. The goal was to increase the knowledge and self-efficacy of providers in Rhode Island. Survey results indicated increased interest and confidence to provide care to transgender patients. In this session we present our interdisciplinary approach: discussing planning group development, content, fund raising, implementation, and evaluation. FMDRL_ID: 6162
