This resource includes the keynote slides and handouts for the Lecture-Discussion on Improving the Pelvic Exam. The talk reviews the potential iatrogenic effects of speculum exams, techniques to improve the exams, reduce iatrogenic effects, and improve the doctor patient relationship. This resource also reviews ways to improve teaching the pelvic exam, and includes a pocket card with techniques, and a Core Competency based evaluation to use when teaching and providing feedback to residents.
