How to start, maintain and improve student-run clinics from 3 different schools with years of collective experience. Many medical students are looking for ways to give back to their communities and to get early clinical experiences. This presentation will help participants team up with students to create student-run clinics that allow students to express their altruism. These clinical experiences in which students see faculty members as role models demonstrating humanistic health care may lead to greater student interest in Family Medicine and promote students' interest in providing healthcare for underserved populations. The discussions fostered by the three schools with successful student-run clinics will promote sharing of ideas to improve the quality of these programs for all participants. Practical suggestions will be shared for creating, maintaining, evaluating and improving student-run clinics in your home institution. FMDRL_ID: 645#Conferences #STFMAnnualSpringConference #2006
