Physician and literary scholar Rita Charon has shared that, "the care of the sick unfolds in stories".This toolkit offers a set of resources for student-run free clinics (and similar entities) interested in integrating narrative medicine into their organization. Drawing on the experience of an interprofessional, student-run free clinic in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the materials help clinicians, faculty, trainees, and other stakeholders consider the practical and logistical considerations involved in eliciting patient stories beyond standard clinical visits.
